DREMC crews restore over 16,000 members, prepare for next storm

Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) has successfully restored more than 16,000 members, ahead of the secondary winter storm expected to impact the area tonight.

A total of 172 linemen and 58 tree removal contractors have worked throughout Bedford, Coffee and Moore counties to restore as many members as possible since the first storm hit early Monday morning.

“Despite these unforgiving weather conditions, DREMC crews continue working hard for members,” said Scott Spence, President and CEO of DREMC. “The support from the communities we serve has been tremendous and we remain committed to restoring all members as safely and quickly as possible.”

Work will continue tonight, despite the incoming weather, to restore the remaining 1,900 members without power.

DREMC would like to thank members for their patience, understanding and continued prayers as crews battle extreme conditions.

Lobbies will remain closed Thursday, February 18 for the safety of members and staff.
